Project name: Women Improving Nutrition through Group-based Strategies (WINGS)
Institutions: Professional Assistance for Development Action (PRADAN) and International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI)
Country: India
Description: The WINGS project mobilizes women’s self-help groups (SHGs) in vulnerable, excluded communities. These collectives work on issues related to income generation through agricultural production, access to and use of government entitlement schemes, gender norms, women’s empowerment, and health programming focused on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) and nutrition.
This study aims to understand the determinants of women’s and children’s nutrition outcomes to improve their diet and nutritional status through increasing consumption and income. Nutrition intensification activities will be conducted through existing women’s SHGs while working with the community and public systems and institutions to ensure that public health services and nutrition programs are available and accessible in the project area.
