Description: The SE LEVER intervention leverages agricultural development and nutrition strategies to increase poultry production and improve the diets of women and children in Burkina Faso. It uses an integrated approach that includes three main components:
- Improved access to value chain services such as vaccination, financing, and poultry management training
- Behavior change communication on nutrition and health provided through women’s groups and poultry producer groups
- Community-level sensitization on women’s empowerment and gender equity, including strengthening of women’s groups
This project evaluates the cost of the SE LEVER intervention and its impact on the diets and nutritional status of women and children and household poultry output and sales. It also examines whether an additional hygiene component is needed improve child health and nutrition.
