Description: JP-RWEE adopts a multi-sectoral and comprehensive approach to reduce gender inequalities in pastoralist communities related to access to resources, credit, and financial services to improve household food security, women’s decision-making within the household, and women’s participation in the community.
This project will implement the following activities:
- Strengthening the technical capacity of associations and cooperatives to offer financial products to women farmers and pastoralists
- Providing training on management of local household food reserves, post-harvest technologies, and agricultural innovations
- Establishing revolving funds for providing credit to women
- Providing training onfinancial literacy, entrepreneurship skills, business development, and leadership
- Providing time- and labor-saving equipment
- Training facilitators to conduct gender-focused community conversations
