- November 2010: GAAP inception workshop at the ILRI campus in Nairobi, Kenya to introduce the initiative to projects interested in participation.
- November 2010: Call for proposals to apply to be a part of the GAAP portfolio and receive funding and assistance in analysis of project impact on gender and assets.
- December 2010: Applicant projects reviewed by GAAP core team members and GAAP External Advisory Committee (EAC).
- January 2011: GAAP core team selects eight partner projects to be part of the portfolio conditional on a number of revisions to initial proposals.
- Throughout 2011: GAAP core team members work with portfolio projects to provide technical assistance in gender and assets data collection and analysis. Initial development of Gender and Asset Toolkit by core team.
- October 2011: GAAP Mid-term review workshop in Rajendrapur, Bangladesh at the BRAC center with portfolio partners to review progress to date.
- November 2011: Call for proposals to receive funding and assistance to strengthen capacity to use GAAP analysis to develop and test strategies to improve project impact on women’s assets (mid-course adjustments).
- Early 2012: Approval of successful proposals for mid-course adjustments.
- Throughout 2012: GAAP core team members work with portfolio projects to provide technical assistance in gender and assets data collection and analysis. GAAP core team members synthesize information from across projects to develop lessons learned.
- January 2013: Final technical workshop for project grantees and EAC members in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
- Summer 2013: Final papers with results are submitted by grantees to GAAP team.
- November 2013: GAAP Project Notes with results, as well as some IFPRI Discussion Papers with findings, are released.
- December 2013: Workshop held in Nairobi, Kenya to get feedback on the practitioner's guide.
- March 2014: Workshop held in New Delhi, India to get feedback on the practitioner's guide.
- May 2014: Workshop to be held in DC to get feedback on the practitioner's guide.
- June 2014: Update of the GAAP toolkit, complete with case studies from all 8 projects, to be released
- June 2014: GAAP end date.
